Palmer is PrestoSports/Pride of Maryland Player of the Week
ROCKVILLE, Md. - It is shaping up to be a
spectacular senior season for Salisbury University men's basketball
guard/forward Greg Palmer
(Salisbury, Md.), and the accolades continue to roll
in. On Tuesday, Palmer was named the PrestoSports/Pride of Maryland
Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Palmer was given the honor back on Dec. 7 after he led his Sea
Gulls (12-10, 8-6 Capital Athletic Conference) to the 2009
Optimist Classic tournament title; he took home tournament MVP
honors for his performances. Last week, Palmer and the Sea Gulls
went 1-1 as they suffered an on-the-road loss at the hands
of CAC foe York (Pa.) College, but came back to defeat CAC
opponent Stevenson University at home. In the game against York,
Palmer scored a game-high 25 points and went 5-for-5 from behind
the three-point arc. In the victory against Stevenson, he netted 19
points.
This Wednesday marks the final regular-season home contest for
the Sea Gulls, who will square off against CAC opponent Wesley
College at 8 p.m. Before the game, the team will recognize its
three seniors - Palmer, along with guards Drew
Dickson (Silver Spring, Md.) and Devin Jones
(Severn, Md.).
