Palmer named CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
YORK, Pa. - Just two days after a
thrilling victory against Capital Athletic Conference foe St.
Mary's (Md.) College, the Salisbury University men's basketball
team can celebrate an individual accolade as Greg Palmer
(Salisbury, Md.) was named the CAC Men's Basketball
Player of the Week on Monday. The award marks the first time this
season that a Sea Gull on the men's basketball squad has been
chosen as Player of the Week.
Palmer, who has received outright CAC Player of the Week honors
three times in his career, has had a stellar season so far for the
Sea Gulls. The senior guard, who notched his 1,000th
career point on Jan. 16, is averaging 16.8 points and 5.9 rebounds
per game. His impressive 24-point, 5 rebound game against
16th-ranked St. Mary's was an integral part of the Sea Gull victory
against the Seahawks.
Salisbury has now won three-straight games and will look to continue its hot streak, on the road, at CAC opponent Hood College on Jan. 27. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m. Sea Gull fans planning to travel to the game, which will be played on a military installation, should pay special attention to the regulations in place.
