2009 Optimist Classic set to tip off Friday
SALISBURY, Md. - The Maggs Physical Activities
Center will be home to eight basketball games in the next three
days, hosting the 2009 Optimist Classic. Salisbury's men and women
will each play two home games in that stretch, while welcoming
seven opposing teams.
The action begins Friday night with the first day of women's
basketball. Saturday will feature four games, two women's and two
men's games. The men will close out the weekend with their
consolation and championship games at 2 and 4 p.m.
These will mark the final home games for the Salisbury teams
until early January. The men will be back in action when they host
Virginia Wesleyan on Jan. 4, 2010, and both teams will play in a
doubleheader on Jan. 9, when they host Capital Athletic Conference
foe Marymount.
