Palmer named CAC Player of the Week
YORK, Pa. - The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly conference player of the week awards on Monday and Salisbury University junior guard Greg Palmer was named the men's basketball recipient for the week of December 15. This was the first selection for SU men's basketball team this season.
The award marks the second career CAC Player of the Week honor for Palmer. He was honored last season by the conference office. The co-captain led the Sea Gulls to their second consecutive victory with a win over CAC foe, York (Pa.) College, 74-63, last Tuesday. Palmer totaled 20 points, grabbed three rebounds and dished out three assists. The Salisbury, Md., native has notched at least 11 points in the past five games. He is leading the Sea Gulls in 13 statistical categories, including 13.9 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game.
The Sea Gulls will take a three-week layoff for winter break and will return to action in the New Year on Saturday, January 3. SU will welcome the Shoremen of Washington College for a 7 p.m. matchup between the two Eastern Shore rivals.
