GILBERT, Ariz. – The most recent Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Coaches Poll was released on Tuesday, and the Salisbury University field hockey team moved up one spot, to No. 7.
After a 2-0 week in which they defeated their opponents by a combined score of 12-1, the Sea Gulls (9-2, 1-0 Capital Athletic Conference) earned 525 points in the NFHCA poll.
The top four teams in the nation remain unchanged: Middlebury College at No. 1 with 896 points, Messiah College at No. 2 with 846 points, Tufts University at No. 3 with 777 points, and The College of New Jersey at No. 4 with 743 points. Last week's No. 5 team, Bowdoin College, was replaced by Rowan University with 654 points; Rowan was ranked seventh last week.
Salisbury will play at home for the next two games, beginning with its annual Corners for Cancer match on Wednesday, October 10, against Wesley College. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m.
