
GILBERT, Ariz. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association released its first Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III Coaches Poll of the regular season and Salisbury University currently sits at No. 6 in the nation.
The Sea Gulls have started the season with a 3-1 record, including three-straight wins to open the season and received 656 points in the poll for the No. 6 spot, just 17 points behind No. 5 Franklin & Marshall College.
Middlebury College remains at the top of the rankings with 1,018 points and 37 first-place votes, followed by Messiah College, which earned 951 points and eight first-place votes, and The College of New Jersey, with 884 points and two first-place votes. Those three teams remained in their spots from the preseason poll while Babson College jumped up three spots to No. 4, picking up 731 points and three first-place votes following a 4-0 start to the year.
The Sea Gulls are back on the road on Wednesday, September 12 at Washington (Md.) College for a contest against the Shorewomen beginning at 7 p.m.
