Field hockey picked tied atop CAC preseason poll

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Salisbury University field hockey team has been picked atop the Capital Athletic Conference preseason coaches' poll which was announced on Monday, tied for the top spot along with Christopher Newport University.

The Sea Gulls and Captains each earned 23 points and three first-place votes to tie for the title of preseason favorite. The two squads are followed in the preseason poll by York College of Pennsylvania (17 points), the University of Mary Washington (13), St. Mary's College of Maryland (9), and Frostburg State University (5).

The Sea Gulls will play their first five games on the road beginning with two at the Misericordia Invitational on August 31 and September 1. Salisbury will play its first game at Sea Gull Stadium on Saturday, September 15 against Cabrini University, beginning at 6 p.m.
