VIDEO: Field hockey shuts out Frostburg State
The seventh-ranked Salisbury University field hockey team celebrated its four seniors prior to the start of its game against Frostburg State University on Sunday before shutting out the Bobcats, 7-0, closing out the athletic events of Homecoming weekend. Junior Emily Lemanski led the offensive onslaught scoring the game’s opening goal and adding two more for the first hat trick of her career. Senior Nicole Lindner scored her first two goals of the year, turning around and firing a shot from 10 yards out in the opening half and later getting a deflection on a shot by freshman Rebecca Lloyd, who later scored the first goal of her career. Rachel Domanico capped the scoring with this backhanded finish off a rebound from a Tara Daddio try. Daddio recorded two assists in the game. Tressie Windsor had a pair of save in the game as Salisbury recorded its fifth shutout of the year. The Sea Gulls are back in action on Wednesday, October 11, hosting Wesley College for the team’s annual Corners for Cancer game, which will begin at 6 p.m.
