Field hockey sits at No. 4 in latest NFHCA poll

CHANDLER, Ariz. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association released its latest Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III Coaches Poll on Tuesday and Salisbury University sits at No. 4 in the nation.

The Sea Gulls earned a pair of 3-0 wins in the past week and have now picked up a first-place vote to go with 753 points in the poll and sit 41 points behind The College of New Jersey.

Messiah College remains atop the poll, with 950 points and 45 first-place votes, while Babson College is up four spots to No. 2, with 845 points and a pair of first-place votes. Tufts University rounds out the top five, with 750 points and one first-place vote.

Fellow Capital Athletic Conference members the University of Mary Washington and Christopher Newport University remain ranked and each moved up in the poll. Mary Washington is up three spots to No. 14, earning 332 points, while Christopher Newport is up a position to No. 17, collecting 211 points in this week's poll.

The Sea Gulls are in action on Wednesday, September 20, hosting Johns Hopkins University at Sea Gull Stadium, beginning at 6 p.m., before traveling to The College of New Jersey for a top-five matchup on Saturday, September 23.
