CHANDLER, Ariz. – The Salisbury University field hockey team held its position at No. 3 in the nation with the release of the latest Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III Coaches Poll.
The Sea Gulls earned 816 points in the latest poll, just three points behind Tufts University, which eared 819 points and three first-place votes. Messiah College remains the top team in the nation, picking up 996 points and 45 first-place votes.
The College of New Jersey, a team Salisbury will meet later this month, sits in fourth with 805 points and Middlebury College (786 points) rounds out the top five.
Babson College, which stands in sixth, took two first-place votes, while Amherst College (seventh in the poll), and Kean University (20th in the poll) each nabbed one first-place vote.
Joining Salisbury from the Capital Athletic Conference in the poll is the University of Mary Washington, which stands 17th with 235 points, and Christopher Newport University, which received 200 points and is tied for 18th.
Salisbury hosts Washington (Md.) College on Wednesday, September 13 at Sea Gull Stadium, beginning at 6 p.m.
