Salisbury still No. 2 team in nation heading into NCAA tournament

CHANDLER, Ariz. – The final regular-season Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches' Association Coaches' poll was released, and the Salisbury University field hockey team held tight to its No. 2 ranking for the fourth straight week.

While the top five teams remained unchanged, No. 3 Tufts University is hot on Salisbury's heels. The Sea Gulls earned 662 points and two first-place votes, while the Jumbos garnered 654 points and three first-place votes.

Messiah College retained its top ranking, netting 710 points and 31 first-place votes. Middlebury College (585 points) and The College of New Jersey (545) points round out the top five.

The Sea Gulls are one of four host sites for this weekend's second and third-round games. Salisbury earned a first-round bye in the NCAA Division III field hockey tournament and will square off against the winner of a first-round clash between Kenyon College and Elizabethtown College after the two teams face each other on Wednesday.
