CHANDLER, Ariz. – The most recent Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches' Association poll was released on Tuesday, and the Salisbury University field hockey team maintained a tight grip on its No. 2 ranking.
The Sea Gulls (13-1, 5-0 Capital Athletic Conference) garnered 848 points in this week's poll, behind No. 1 Messiah College (973 points, 47 first-place votes) and ahead of No. 3 Tufts University (813 points, one first-place vote.) The No. 4 ranking, which belonged to Tufts last week, went to Bowdoin College (788 points) which dropped from No. 3. Middlebury College (742 points) maintained its No. 5 ranking.
Salisbury will be on the road for its final game of the regular season on Wednesday, October 26 against CAC opponent Wesley College. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
The Sea Gulls have already locked up the top seed – and a first-round bye – in the CAC tournament; they will play in the CAC semifinal round on Wednesday, November 2. Game time and opponent have yet to be determined; please check back on www.suseagulls.com for details later in the week.
