Field hockey's "Corners for Cancer" game set for Wednesday night

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University field hockey team faces off in a key battle with Capital Athletic Conference foe York College of Pennsylvania on Wednesday night, October 12, but the Sea Gulls will be taking part in a larger fight – against breast cancer – as the contest will serve as the team's "Corners for Cancer" game.

The Sea Gulls will be wearing pink uniforms and ask fans to wear pink as well to fill Sea Gull Stadium. Fans are encouraged to pledge a dollar amount of their choice to be donated to the American Cancer Society for each penalty corner the team is awarded during the game. Those who choose not to donate per corner, will be able to make a one-time donation on Wednesday, as well. Donations and pledges can be made in the concourse of Sea Gull Stadium on Wednesday night.

This season, Salisbury is averaging 12.80 penalty corners per game, which ranks 11th in Division III field hockey.

The game on Wednesday night will begin at 6 p.m.
