CHANDLER, Ariz. – A stellar 6-0 win against Cabrini University on Saturday evening bumped the Salisbury University field hockey team up in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association's latest Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III Coaches' Poll, released on Tuesday. The Gulls moved up a spot from No. 6 to No. 5.
Salisbury's decisive victory against Cabrini earned the team 747 points in this week's poll, trailing No. 4 Ursinus College by 122 points. Two of the top three teams switched spots; while Bowdoin College (1,074 points, 40 first-place votes) retained its top ranking, No. 2 Messiah College (990 points, nine first-place votes) and No. 3 Middlebury College (977 points, four first-place votes) flipped places from last week.
The Sea Gulls square off against Johns Hopkins University tomorrow (September 21) at 7 p.m. in Baltimore before returning to Sea Gull Stadium on Saturday, September 24 to face No. 9-ranked The College of New Jersey. That game time is set for 1 p.m.
