YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its first field hockey awards for the 2016 season and Salisbury University senior Becca Rinaca was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week.
Rinaca scored six times in three games, leading the Sea Gulls to three wins in the first week of the season. She notched the second hat trick of her career in the season opener at Washington (Md.) College, before scoring twice against Misericordia University and once against King's (Pa.) College.
The three goals against Washington were one shy of her career high. Her six goals thus far is just four away from Rinaca's single-season high of 10 set in the past two seasons.
The Sea Gulls return to action on Wednesday, September 7 traveling to Stevenson University for a 7 p.m., start.
