Field hockey’s fourth-annual ‘Corners for Cancer’ game set for Sunday

SALISBURY, Md. – In field hockey, penalty corners give the offensive team an advantage over the defense. On Sunday, each penalty corner the No. 7 Salisbury University field hockey team is awarded may also give a cancer patient an advantage in their fight against the disease.

Sunday afternoon, when the Sea Gulls host Frostburg State University, it will be the team's fourth-annual "Corners for Cancer" game, in order to help raise awareness of the disease and funds to help combat it.

Fans are able to pledge a dollar amount, of their choosing, for each penalty corner the team is awarded during the game. Pledges are will be accepted at Sea Gull Stadium on the day of the game at the pledge table near the main grandstand.

The Salisbury players will be wearing pink uniforms during the game and ask their fans to show up sporting pink as well.

Sunday's game at Sea Gull Stadium begins at 12 p.m.
