Four Sea Gulls named to Longstreth/NFHCA All-Region teams

CHANDLER, Ariz. - This weekend was a true team effort as the No. 2 Salisbury University field hockey team advanced to the NCAA Division III tournament semifinals for the first time since 2007. Along with the team's success, the Sea Gulls can also celebrate individual milestones as four members of the squad were named to Longstreth/NFHCA (National Field Hockey Coaches Association) Division III All-Region teams.

Seniors Beverly Beladino (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) and Lauren Correll (Bridgeville, Del.), as well as sophomore Tara McGovern (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.), were all first-team selections in the South Region. Additionally, senior Michelle Rowe (Elkton, Md.) was named to the South Region second team.

The Sea Gulls (18-1) took down previously undefeated SUNY Cortland (19-1) on Sunday, 3-2, to advance to the semifinal round of the NCAA tournament. They will face off against No. 4 Tufts University (18-1) on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m. in South Hadley, Mass.
