Correll named Division III Mid-Atlantic Offensive Player of the Week
CENTERVILLE, Mass. - It has been quite a week so far for Salisbury field hockey, and the accolades keep coming in. Aside from its No. 2 ranking in the nation in this week's Kookaburra/NFHCA (National Field Hockey Coaches Association) Division III poll, senior forward Lauren Correll (Bridgeville, Del.) has been named the Division III Mid-Atlantic Offensive Player of the Week by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). Correll was also named the Capital Athletic Conference field hockey Co-Player of the Week earlier today.
Correll has had a highly successful week, as the senior notched a career-high five goals in Salisbury's 7-0 victory over Kenyon College on Sunday. The Sea Gulls have gone 3-0 this week, with Correll contributing seven goals and two assists.
Salisbury's next game will be away, as the Gulls face Capital Athletic Conference foe York (Pa.) College in York, Pa. on Oct. 3. The Sea Gulls' next home contest will be on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 6 p.m., as they take on CAC rival Stevenson University.
