hockey seniors Danielle Twilley and Maria
Ramoundos have been selected by the National Field Hockey
Coaches Association to play in the 2007 NFCHA Division III Senior
All-Star Game at Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pa., on Saturday,
November 17, at 9:30 a.m.
Twilley, a 2006 first-team All-American, is one of the three
co-captains on this year's team that is currently ranked No. 3 in
the country with a 15-game winning streak entering the Capital
Athletic Conference tournament. The senior back does it all for SU
as she plays defense and is one of the main threats on offense. She
leads the team in minutes played with 1,053. The Delmar, Del.,
native is third on the team with 26 points (11 goals, five assists)
and has scored a team-high four penalty strokes. Twilley also has
recorded one game-winning score and one defensive save.
Ramoundos the senior goalie for the Sea Gulls has posted a
flawless 16-0 record in the cage for the maroon and gold. Ramoundos
has made 59 saves and sports a 0.89 goals against average on the
year as she has only allowed 10 scores. The Gloucester, N.J.,
native has logged over 1,000 minutes between the pipes for the
Gulls this season and has started 16-of-16 games that she has
played in. The four-year letterwinner is one of the three
co-captains on this year's team.
