Sea Gulls remain at No. 5 in STX/NFHCA poll

GLEN ALLEN, Va. - The Salisbury University field hockey team stayed put at No. 5 in the nation in the latest STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III coaches' poll released Tuesday.

Salisbury (8-1, 2-0 CAC) earned one first-place vote and a total of 706 points to remain in the same No. 5 position they were ranked a week ago.

The Sea Gulls look to move up in the polls this week as they meet up with No. 12 Rowan University (6-2) this afternoon at home. Three days later the Gulls play host to No. 4 Messiah College (4-2). Both games are slated for a 5 p.m. start at Sea Gull Stadium.

Defending national champion Ursinus College (5-1) remains ranked No. 1 as the Bears received 24 first-place votes. The undefeated Bowdoin University Polar Bears (6-0) moved up to No. 2 and The College of New Jersey (5-1) checks in at No. 3.
