Salisbury field hockey receives another national academic team award
GLEN ALLEN, Va. - The Salisbury University field hockey team was recognized again by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) as one of 88 schools to earn the 2007 NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award.
To be recognized a team must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Sea Gulls are joined by two other Capital Athletic Conference teams; York (Pa.) College and St. Mary's (Md.) College. The Spartans from York are ranked in the top five overall.
In addition to the team award, eight Salisbury players were recognized as members of the 2007 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad. Five SU student-athletes are repeat winners of this award, they include Jennifer Bandy, Lauren Correll, Angela DiFabio, Megan Maloney and Ashley Spencer. The newcomers include freshmen Christina Craddock, Katie Fost and Alex Yarbrough.
