Doug Fleetwood enters his 19th season on the SU staff, where he serves as assistant head coach / offensive line coach. In 2017 Fleetwood’s offensive line helped pave the way for the eighth-best rushing attack in the nation that accounted for 283.7 rush yards per game last season while racking up a total of 3,121 yards overall while scoring 37 times on the ground.

In 2016 Fleetwood’s offense ranked second in the nation in rushing, averaging 376.6 yards per game. The Sea Gulls passing game also was effective, as the Gulls were third in the nation in yards per completion at 20.13 and 11th in passing efficiency, with a team passer rating of 16.15.

Fleetwood also served as the Salisbury head baseball coach for 14 seasons, completing his run in 2014. He led the program to the Division III World Series four times, compiling a 476-147-6 record.

The Cambridge, MD, native and graduate of SU, served 21 years in the high school ranks at Cambridge-South Dorchester High School as the head football coach. In 2002, he was inducted into the Maryland Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Fleetwood is the main recruiter for the following areas: Maryland (Anne Arundel, Frederick, Harford, Montgomery County, Queen Anne’s, North Caroline, Cambridge-South Dorchester, Allegheny, and Garrett), Transfers, and New York.
