MINNEAPOLIS – The organization D3football.com released its week 8 poll on Monday morning and Salisbury University found its way into the top 25 as it earned the No. 25 raking in the nation after pushing its win streak to seven this past weekend.
The Sea Gulls climbed in to the top 25 after a 33-0 victory over Southern Virginia University on Saturday afternoon to push their record to 7-0 overall and 6-0 in New Jersey Athletic Conference play. The defense pitched its third shutout of the season and while offense was led by Mike-Ryan Mofor's four rushing touchdowns.
The top five teams in the country are a combined 34-0 this season with the University of Mount Union, which garnered 620 points and 20 of the 25 total first-place votes, holding down the top spot. The University of Mary-Hardin Baylor came in ranked second with 605 points, The College at Brockport (556) was ranked third, while spots four and five were held by St. John's University and University of Wisconsin-Whitewater respectively.
Salisbury is joined by fellow NJAC teams Frostburg State University, which came in ranked sixth and Wesley College, which fell to No. 20.
Salisbury returns to action on Saturday, October 27 when it travels to Rowan University for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
