MINNEAPOLIS – The Salisbury University football team sits at No. 16 in the latest D3football.com top 25 poll.
The Sea Gulls hold 246 points in the latest poll, just three points behind the No. 16 State University of New York at Cortland. Salisbury was off this past weekend, following a season-opening 34-18 victory against Albright College on September 2.
The top five teams saw no change this week with the University of Mount Union at the top of the list, with 610 points and 16 first-place votes. The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (589 points, four first-place votes), Linfield College (571 points, three first-place votes), the University of St. Thomas-Minnesota (553 points, two first-place votes), and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (535 points) round out the top five.
Salisbury begins its New Jersey Athletic Conference title defense this Saturday, September 17, hosting Montclair State University at Sea Gull Stadium. The contest is scheduled to begin at noon.
