DANBURY, Conn. – The Salisbury University football team will get one more chance to take the field in 2014, being selected to play in the Eastern College Athletic Conference South Atlantic Bowl, hosting Albright College on Saturday, November 22 at Sea Gull Stadium.
This will mark the seventh ECAC bowl appearance in the history of Salisbury football, as the Sea Gulls will be looking for their fifth ECAC bowl championship. Salisbury has now played in the postseason for 11-straight years.
Salisbury (6-4) is coming off a 27-10 win against Frostburg State University in the annual Regents Cup game, and will be looking to make it three-straight wins on Saturday.
Albright (6-4) will enter the ECAC game riding a five-game winning streak after edging Lebanon Valley College on Saturday, 17-14.
The Sea Gulls and Lions have met three times previously, with the Sea Gulls taking the last two meetings, in 2007 and 2008. Albright collected a 20-10 win in Salisbury's first-ever ECAC bowl game appearance, in 1995, with a 20-10 victory in Reading, Pennsylvania.
Saturday's game will kickoff at noon. Tickets will cost $5 for general admission, and $3 for seniors, students with I.D., and children 12 and under.
