MINNEAPOLIS – The Salisbury University football team is ranked No. 10 in the D3Football.com top 25 poll for the second straight week, the website announced Sunday.
Salisbury (9-1, 7-0 Empire 8) topped Frostburg State University, 49-7, in the 13th annual Regents Cup game to win the Empire 8 title outright in its first year in the league. The win capped off the Sea Gulls' first conference title since winning the Atlantic Central Football Conference in 2004 and 2005.
SU earned 347 points in the poll, behind No. 9 Wabash College with 385.
The top 11 teams in the poll stayed the same from last week. The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (20) and University of Mount Union (five) shared first-place votes and received 620 and 604 points, respectively.
SU hosts Western New England University in the first round of the NCAA tournament Saturday at noon.
