SU tied for 12th in latest AFCA coaches poll

WACO, Texas – The Salisbury University football team is in a tie for 12th in the America Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III Coaches Top 25 Poll, the organization announced Monday.

SU (8-1, 6-0 Empire 8) clinched at least a share of the Empire 8 Conference title with a 41-21 win over St. John Fisher College on Homecoming Saturday.

The Sea Gulls received 561 points in the poll to tie with California Lutheran University.

The top five teams remained unchanged from last week's voting. The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (41) and University of Mount Union (one) shared first-place votes and were the top two teams, garnering 1,049 and 1,005 points, respectively.

SU hosts Frostburg State University this Saturday in the 13th annual Regents Cup game. Kickoff at Sea Gull Stadium is slated for 4 p.m.
