The top-seeded Salisbury volleyball team will finish off championship Saturday with their CAC title match against No. 2-seeded Stevenson University at Maggs Physical Activities Center. First serve is 6 p.m.
Also Saturday, the No. 15 SU football team (7-1, 5-0 Empire 8) welcomes St. John Fisher College (7-1, 5-0) to Sea Gull Stadium for a noon kickoff. The winner will earn at least a share of the Empire 8 Conference title and automatic qualification to the NCAA tournament.
Salisbury University students are some of the top supporters of their teams in the region and to ensure that each championship venue is decked out in maroon and gold, the athletic department will be giving away a limited number of Homecoming/Championship T-shirts to the first students, with a valid SU ID, to enter each event. The first 200 at the football game and 100 at men's and women's soccer, field hockey and volleyball games will get a shirt.
Also beginning this weekend, the Salisbury University Athletic Training Club is hosting its annual canned-food drive. The drive lasts the length of November and benefits the Joseph House for Thanksgiving.
Cans will be collected during the football and field hockey games at Sea Gull Stadium and at the men's and women's soccer games at the SU Soccer Complex and the volleyball game at Maggs PAC on Saturday.
