41 Salisbury student-athletes named to All-ACFC Academic Team
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic Central Football Conference announced its 2010 All-Academic Team and 93 student-athletes were named to the team, including 41 from Salisbury University. In order to qualify for the All-Academic Team a student-athlete must obtain a 3.0 grade point average or higher throughout the 2009 fall semester.
Salisbury led the conference with its 41 selections, followed by Wesley College who had 25 players honored. Frostburg State (20 selections) and the Apprentice School (seven selections) round out the ACFC conference selections.
Salisbury finished the '09 season with a 5-6 record and a 2-1 ACFC mark, with the only loss coming from No. 3 Wesley College. The Sea Gulls made their second consecutive appearance in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Southwest Bowl Championship in 2010. Additionally, the maroon and gold had 12 All-ACFC selections and one All-American.
