Hudson named first-team All-American by D3football.com

SALISBURY, Md. - Senior defensive back Brandon Hudson (Delmar, Md.) received another accolade this weekend as he was named a D3football.com first-team All-American.

Hudson was named a first-team all-region selection from D3football.com two weeks ago and got the top honor when the announcement of the All-American teams was made as part of the Stagg Bowl celebration.

Hudson played just one season with Salisbury University, but he made a huge impact on the program, posting a school-record nine interceptions in 2009. The nine picks broke the mark previously held by current Washington Redskin Byron Westbrook, who intercepted eight passes in 2004.

Hudson also recorded 51 tackles, fifth-best on the team, this season. He broke up a team-high 10 passes while forcing a fumble and recovering one.

The transfer from Delaware State University also proved to be one of the best return men in the nation in 2009, ranking third in Division III football with a 16.27-yard average per punt return.
