Burdalski honored by hometown football cub

RIVERSIDE, N.J. - The football club of Burlington, N.J., recently announced its 2008 College Player of the Year awards and Salisbury University senior center Bryan Burdalski was selected as its Division III College Player of the Year. The award is distinguished to the top college senior whose high school football career was played at one of the 20 Burlington County (N.J.) schools.

Burdalski led the No. 21 Sea Gulls (9-2) to an average 40.7 points per game and 58 offensive touchdowns this season. The Lumberton, N.J., native helped pave the way for the top rushing offense in Division III, as the Gulls rushed for 380 yards per game (6.6 yards per carry) and 4,885 yards of total offense in 11 games. The senior has been named to both the D3football.com All-South region third team and the All-Atlantic Central Football Conference second team this season.

Burdalski graduated from Holy Cross High School in Delran, N.J. He will be accepting the honor less than 10 miles away from his alma mater at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cherry Hill, N.J. The ceremony will be held on December 17 at 7 p.m.
