Chandler lands on Associated Press Little All-American Second Team
SALISBURY, Md. - Salisbury University senior defensive end Jarrell Chandler was named to the prestigious Associated Press Little All-American second team on Friday. This is the first time Chandler has been named to this team.
The AP Little All-American Teams includes players from NCAA Division II, III and the NAIA.
This is Chandler's second All-American honor this year as he was recently named to the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III All-American First Team.
Chandler had an outstanding year for the Sea Gulls (9-2). The 2008
All-South Region first team selection ranks fourth in the nation
for tackles for loss average per game (2.15) and 15th in the nation
for sacks per game (0.95). The Salisbury, Md., product is ranked
sixth in the ACFC in tackles (64) and tackles per game (6.40).
While being honored to the 2008 All-ACFC first team, he was tied
for first in sacks (9.5). Chandler also leads the ACFC in tackles
for loss average per game and is second in tackle for loss yards
(90).
Chandler is one of two players from the Atlantic Central Football Conference (ACFC) to earn a spot on the AP Little All-American Teams. Wesley College's Larry Beavers was named to the second team offense as the all-purpose player.
