Salisbury places 32 student-athletes on ACFC All-Academic Team

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic Central Football Conference announced its 2008 All-Academic Team and 94 student-athletes were named to the team including 32 from Salisbury University. In order to qualify for the All-Academic Team a student-athlete must obtain a 3.0 grade point average or higher throughout the 2008 Fall semester.

Salisbury led the conference with its 32 selections followed by Wesley College who had 30 players named. The Apprentice School (17 selections) and Frostburg State University (15 selections) round out the ACFC conference selections.

Salisbury finished the '08 season with a 9-2 record and 2-1 ACFC mark with the only loss coming to No. 14 Wesley College. The No. 24 Sea Gulls won the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Southwest Bowl Championship with a 21-17 win over Moravian College. The 2008 Sea Gulls averaged 379.9 rushing yards per game which was tops in Division III and also the highest total in all NCAA divisions. SU scored 448 total points which set a new program record.
