WACO, Texas - The Salisbury University football
team moved up to No. 8 in the latest American Football Coaches
Association poll released Tuesday after the Sea Gulls piled up four
team records in their 79-20 win over Becker College on
Homecoming.
The Sea Gulls improved to 8-0 on the year and won their 11th
straight game as they set new school records for points scored in a
game (79), rushing yards in a game (596), total yards in a game
(671) and rushing touchdowns in a game (10).
The maroon and gold also made headway in the newest D3football.com
poll as they leapfrogged Wesley College to move to No. 9. The
Wolverines moved up one spot to No. 11 in the AFCA poll and
remained at No. 10 in the D3football.com poll.
The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) released its second
weekly Lambert Football poll which ranks the top teams that play in
the East or play half of its schedule against eligible Lambert
teams. The Sea Gulls moved from No. 6 to No. 4 behind only St. John
Fisher at No. 3, Alfred at No. 2 and Washington & Jefferson at
No. 1.
The Sea Gulls travel to Dover, Del., to take part in the annual
Route 13 rivalry against Wesley on Saturday, October 27, at 1 p.m.
