NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Salisbury University senior
kicker Brendan Kincaid was honored by the Atlantic
Central Football Conference on Monday as the ACFC Special Teams
Player of the Week for September 8.
The Cambridge, Md., native accounted for 11 points in SU's 40-14
win over SUNY Brockport as he connected on two field goals
(29-yards and 37-yards) and was 5-of-6 on point after touchdown
attempts. In addition to his field goals Kincaid averaged nearly
60-yards per kickoff in eight attempts.
Junior defensive back Justin Acker was named
honorable mention Defensive Player of the Week and junior wide
receiver Kevin Tillage was named honorable mention
Offensive Player of the Week. Acker finished last Saturday's game
with four tackles, one pass breakup and one interception that he
returned for 17 yards that helped to set-up a Sea Gull touchdown in
the second quarter. Tillage caught a team-high three passes for 84
yards and one touchdown.
Kincaid now joins junior quarterback Ronnie Curley
as the two Sea Gulls to be honored by the ACFC this season. Curley
was the ACFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week One (September
1).
The Sea Gulls return to action on Saturday, September 15, as they
visit No. 20 Christopher Newport University for a 1 p.m.
non-conference game.
