Kincaid named ACFC Player of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Salisbury University senior kicker Brendan Kincaid was honored by the Atlantic Central Football Conference on Monday as the ACFC Special Teams Player of the Week for September 8.

The Cambridge, Md., native accounted for 11 points in SU's 40-14 win over SUNY Brockport as he connected on two field goals (29-yards and 37-yards) and was 5-of-6 on point after touchdown attempts. In addition to his field goals Kincaid averaged nearly 60-yards per kickoff in eight attempts.

Junior defensive back Justin Acker was named honorable mention Defensive Player of the Week and junior wide receiver Kevin Tillage was named honorable mention Offensive Player of the Week. Acker finished last Saturday's game with four tackles, one pass breakup and one interception that he returned for 17 yards that helped to set-up a Sea Gull touchdown in the second quarter. Tillage caught a team-high three passes for 84 yards and one touchdown.

Kincaid now joins junior quarterback Ronnie Curley as the two Sea Gulls to be honored by the ACFC this season. Curley was the ACFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week One (September 1).

The Sea Gulls return to action on Saturday, September 15, as they visit No. 20 Christopher Newport University for a 1 p.m. non-conference game.
