Salisbury earns conference best 37 ACFC All-Academic honors

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Salisbury University football team had 37 student-athletes recognized for their academic achievement during the fall 2007 semester as they were named to the Atlantic Central Football Conference Academic All-Conference team. To be awarded a student-athlete had to finish the 2007 fall semester with a grade point average of 3.0 or better.

Salisbury had the most selections out of the 123 conference players recognized. The other four ACFC members include Apprentice School (17 selections), Frostburg State University (18), SUNY Brockport (31) and conference champion Wesley College (20).

Salisbury finished the 2007 season with a 9-2 record and a 3-1 mark in the conference with the only loss coming to No. 5 Wesley College, 20-13. The No. 17 Sea Gulls did earn an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament and lost a hard fought game to Muhlenberg College, 31-21, in the first round. The 2007 Sea Gulls had the nation's second best rushing offense that averaged 323.8 yards per game.
