SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University baseball team will take on the York College of Pennsylvania in the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament second round on Thursday, April 21 at 12:30 p.m. This will be a rematch of both teams season finale which took place right here at the SU Baseball Field.

How we got here
The Sea Gulls defeated the sixth seeded Eagles of Mary Washington in round one by the convincing score of 21-6. Pete Grasso picked up his sixth win of the season going seven innings pitched allowing just six hits and three runs while tying his season-high in strikeouts with nine. He also helped his own cause at the plate going 2-for-4 with two RBI, four runs scored, and a home run. Justin Meekins also joined the home run club on Tuesday smashing his second of the season as he finished the afternoon 1-for-4, two RBI, and a run scored. Overall, the maroon and gold cranked out 17 hits and posted their second straight game of scoring at least 20 runs.
How they got here
York (Pa.) dropped its CAC tournament opener, 2-0, to the fourth seeded Wolverines of Wesley College. The Spartans were held to just three hits, recording their first in the bottom of the sixth, and didn't manage a base runner until the third inning. The three hits were York's lowest total of the season and were shutout for just second time this season.
Last time we met
These two teams just five days ago on this field to close out the regular season. Salisbury got the better of the Spartans plating a total of 34 runs to York's 10. The team's combined for 14 total home runs in the two game series with Salisbury launching eight. Robbie Jones put on exclamation point on the slugfest a grand slam in game two for his first home run of the season. Jack Barry finished the afternoon going 4-for-5 with four RBI and four runs scored in game one and then went 1-for-4 in game two with a run scored.

In 31 games this season the Spartans have posted a team batting average of .299, an on-base percentage of .383, and a slugging percentage of .413. As a team they have scored 212 while knocking 87 extra base hits including 17 home runs. Christian Bilan leads the team with a .375 batting average, a team-high 4 home runs, and 30 RBI this season.
Should Salisbury win it would advance to the third round to be played on Friday, April 21. The Sea Gulls would play the winner of game six at 9 a.m. With the loss the Spartans would be eliminated from the tournament. However, should York win both teams would now have one loss and would advance to Friday's games with game times to be announced after play concludes Thursday evening.
