Sea Gulls move up to No. 13/18 in national polls

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University baseball team moved up in both national polls this week, jumping up to No. 13 in the Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association Top 25 and No. 18 in the American Baseball Coaches' Association/Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division III Baseball poll, the organizations announced.

The Sea Gulls earned 317 points in the poll and 172 points in the ABCA poll, following a week in which they won the program's 13th Capital Athletic Conference championship.

In the conference tournament, the Gulls went 4-0, including two wins on the final day of the championship weekend at Frostburg State University. Salisbury began the day with an 11-10 win over Marymount (Va.) University to advance to the championship game; the Gulls took down Frostburg, 9-8, in the title game. Senior Kyle Goodwin smacked two home runs and drove in four RBI in the win over the Bobcats.

Salisbury begins its final stretch of regular-season games this week, hosting Stevenson University at the SU Baseball Field on Tuesday, April 26; the game is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
