Baseball holds spots in both national polls

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University baseball team remained within both national polls this week, coming in at No. 17 in the Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association Top 25 and No. 27 in the American Baseball Coaches' Association/Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division III Baseball Poll, the organizations announced.

The Sea Gulls earned 223 points in the poll and 82 points in the ABCA poll, after solidifying their spot in the upcoming Capital Athletic Conference baseball tournament. On Saturday, the Gulls earned a 15-8 victory in a CAC doubleheader split with Penn State University-Harrisburg to earn the No. 3 seed in the tournament.

Salisbury begins the CAC tournament on Tuesday, hosting Wesley College in a first-round contest at the SU Baseball Field, before moving on to the conference championship weekend at Frostburg State University. The Sea Gulls and Wolverines are scheduled to start their game at 3:30 p.m.
