Salisbury ranked No. 11/15 in national polls

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University baseball team held its spot at No. 11 in the Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top 25 and moved up to No. 15 in the American Baseball Coaches' Association/Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division III Baseball Poll this week, the organizations announced.

The Sea Gulls are coming off of a 4-1 week, including wins over the University of Mary Washington and Marymount (Va.) University, to go with a doubleheader sweep of York College of Pennsylvania. The record earned Salisbury 315 points in the poll and 216 points in the ABCA poll.

There was some shake up in both polls' top fives. Ramapo College took over the No. 1 spot in the poll, with 591 points and 12 first-place votes. University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (564 points and four first-place votes) moved up to No. 2, while State University of New York at Cortland (559 points and three first-place votes) and Trinity (Texas) University (546 points and five first-place votes) moved to Nos. 3 and 4. No. 5 Emory University moved into the top five with 513 points and one first-place vote.

The ABCA poll's top five contained the same teams in a different order with No. 1 Wisconsin-Whitewater (472 points and 10 first-place votes), No. 2 Ramapo (455 points and three first-place votes), No. 3 Trinity (439 points and two first-place votes), No. 4 SUNY Cortland (422 points and one first-place vote), and No. 5 Emory.

The Sea Gulls return to action this Wednesday, April 13 hosting Christopher Newport University in a 3:30 p.m., contest.
