Grasso collects CAC Pitcher of the Week honors

YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly baseball awards on Monday and Salisbury University junior Pete Grasso picked up the league's Pitcher of the Week honor.

Grasso picked up two wins and a save during the week as Salisbury went 4-1. Against Marymount (Va.) University, in a 4-1 win, Grasso went 6 1/3 innings, surrendering just three hits while striking out five. He gave up one run in that outing, the only run that has been scored against him in 15 1/3 innings of CAC work this season. The other two outings came in relief, earning the win with two shutout innings against the University of Mary Washington and collecting a save on Sunday at York College of Pennsylvania.

In 8 2/3 innings of work throughout the week, Grasso gave up just five hits.

The Sea Gulls return to action this Wednesday, April 13 hosting Christopher Newport University in a 3:30 p.m., contest.
