SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University baseball team moved up to No. 11 in the country in the D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top 25 poll, while also moving to No. 16 in the American Baseball Coaches Association/Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division III Baseball poll, the organizations announced.
The Sea Gulls earned 335 points in the D3baseball.com poll to jump up one spot, after posting a 1-1 week last week. The Gulls earned their win on Tuesday, 7-0, over Washington (Md.) College, behind a complete-game, shutout by senior Connor Shockley.
In the ABCA poll, Salisbury garnered 225 points.
Trinity (Texas) University remained in the No. 1 spot in both polls, while No. 4 Ramapo College also held the same spot in both. The ABCA poll had University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and State University of New York at Cortland at Nos. 2 and 3, while D3baseball.com had the two flipped with Cortland second and Whitewater third. The No. 5 spot was held by Emory University in the ABCA poll and Randolph-Macon College in D3baseball.com.
The Sea Gulls are back in action on Wednesday, April 6 against Marymount (Va.) University in Capital Athletic Conference action at the SU Baseball Field; the game is set for 3:30 p.m.
