Salisbury ranked No. 12 in both national polls

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University baseball team came in at No. 12 in both the American Baseball Coaches' Association/Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division III Baseball Poll and the Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association Top 25 for the week of March 28, the organizations announced.

The Sea Gulls earned 246 points in the ABCA poll and garnered 294 points in the poll to earn their top-15 spots. Over the past week, the Gulls posted a 3-1 record, including a Capital Athletic Conference doubleheader sweep of St. Mary's College of Maryland. Junior Pete Grasso led the way offensively on the week, batting .550 with three home runs and 12 RBI in the four games.

Both polls had Trinity (Texas) University and State University of New York at Cortland as the Nos. 1 and 2 teams, respectively. The remainder of the top five differed for the polls, as the ABCA poll rounded out the Nos. 3 to 5 teams with University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Ramapo College, and Whitworth University, respectively. The poll's top five was rounded out by No. 3 Ramapo, No. 4 Wisconsin-Whitewater, and No. 5 Randolph-Macon College.

The Sea Gulls continue their season on Tuesday, March 29 in the second game of a three-game road trip, traveling to Washington (Md.) College. The first pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
