MINNEAPOLIS – The Salisbury University baseball team moved back into the national top 10 this week in the D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Top 25, moving up three spots to No. 10, the organization announced.
The Sea Gulls went 4-0 over the past week, including three Capital Athletic Conference victories, to earn 365 points in the poll. Salisbury defeated Neumann University on March 8, 6-4, before opening CAC play with a 14-7 win over Christopher Newport University on March 9. The Gulls swept Southern Virginia University on Saturday 4-1 and 11-1 to cap the week.
There was some shake up in the top five this week. State University of New York at Cortland was the only team to remain the same, holding on at No. 1 with 625 points and all 25 first-place votes. Trinity (Texas) University (555 points) and Birmingham-Southern College (544 points) both moved up two spots to No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. No. 4 Emory University (503 points) moved down one spots, while No. 5 University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (479 points) dropped three places.
The Sea Gulls continue their season on Tuesday, March 15 against No. 6 Kean University; the first pitch is set for 2:30 p.m.
