Salisbury baseball takes No. 4 in both national polls

SALISBURY, Md. – After going 2-0 last week, the Salisbury University baseball team remained the No. 4 team in the nation according to the American Baseball Coaches' Association/Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division III Baseball Poll, while moving up a spot to No. 4 in the poll, the organizations announced.

The Sea Gulls earned an 8-3 win against Neumann University on Monday, April 27, using big innings in the fourth and the ninth to get the victory, before taking down the College of Staten Island, 6-3, on Saturday, May 2 on senior day.

The top four in the coaches' poll remain the same as last week's poll, with the State University of New York at Cortland, Frostburg State University, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and Salisbury taking the first four spots, respectively. Baldwin Wallace University is the newcomer in the top five, moving up three spots from last week to take No. 5.

In the media poll, the top three spots are the same from last week, as Cortland State, Frostburg State, and Wisconsin-Whitewater held strong in the top three. Kean University moved back into the top five, taking the final spot after being ranked ninth last week.

Salisbury will take on Johns Hopkins University today, Tuesday, May 5, at 3:30 p.m., before coming back home to face Rutgers University-Camden on Friday, May 8. That game is set for 3 p.m.
