DANBURY, Conn. – Senior Brett Collacchi of the Salisbury University baseball team earned the Sea Gulls' first Eastern College Athletic Conference NCAA Division III South Pitcher of the Week award for this season, the organization announced.
Collacchi earned his second win of the season, taking the mound in the first game of a double header on Sunday against the University of Mary Washington. He was perfect through the first-four innings and took a no-hitter into the fifth, on the way to an 8-2 victory with an eight-strikeout performance, in which he only allowed two hits and surrendered two walks.
On the season, Collacchi boasts a 1.20 earned-run average, along with the 2-0 record. He was named the Capital Athletic Conference's Pitcher of the Week for the effort, as well.
Collacchi and the Sea Gulls return to action at the SU Baseball Field on Wednesday, March 18 in a single game against Christopher Newport University; the first pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
