YORK, Pa. – For the fourth time in his career, senior Brett Collacchi of the No. 4 Salisbury University baseball team earned the Capital Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week accolade, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Taking the mound in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader against the University of Mary Washington, Collacchi pitched eight scoreless innings, striking out eight batters, while only allowing two hits and two walks. Collecting the win in the 8-2 decision, the Bear, Delaware native moved his season record to 2-0 with a 1.20 earned-run average.
Defeating Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Monday, 11-5, the Sea Gulls remain untouched with a 6-0 record.
The men will take the field again tomorrow, March 17, as Salisbury travels to the Apprentice School for a non-conference matchup. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
