YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced the 2015 CAC Baseball Preseason Coaches Poll and the Salisbury University baseball team is at the top of the rankings.
Salisbury received five first-place votes and a total of 77 points for the top spot after coming off a 2014 season that saw SU win the CAC Championship and make a run to the College World Series. Sitting behind the Gulls at the No. 2 spot is Christopher Newport University, which also received five first-place nods and 76 total points.
York College of Pennsylvania took the No. 3 spot, receiving 63 total points, while Frostburg State University is ranked fourth, garnering 60 points. The University of Mary Washington rounds out the top five, collecting a total of 43 points for the ranking.
Wesley College starts out the second half of the rankings, sitting at the six spot, followed by St. Mary's College of Maryland, Marymount (Va.) University and Penn State University-Harrisburg. Newcomer Southern Virginia University took the final spot, ranking No. 10 in the conference.

The Sea Gulls will open their season on Saturday, February 7 when they take on Gwynedd Mercy University at 1 p.m. at the SU Baseball Field.
