MINNEAPOLIS - Following a run to the College World Series, the Salisbury University baseball finished the 2014 season ranked in the top 10 of the D3Baseball.com and American Baseball Coaches Association/Collegiate Baseball polls, the organizations announced.
Salisbury (37-9) checked in at No. 7 in the D3Baseball.com poll and No. 6 in the ABCA/Collegiate Baseball rankings.
In the D3Baseball.com poll, the national champion University of Wisconsin-Whitewater was awarded all 25 first-place votes and 625 points to sit atop the rankings. The team it defeated to claim the title, Emory College, finishes at No. 2 with 596 points.
University of St. Thomas moved up from No. 6 to No. 3 in the final poll with 573 points. University of Southern Maine sits behind them at No. 4, having garnered 522 points.
The State University of New York at Cortland rounds out the top five of the D3Baseball.com poll, as the Red Dragons earned 516 points.
The Warhawks sit atop the ABCA/Collegiate Baseball poll as well, receiving each of the 16 first-place votes and 480 points.
St. Thomas and Emory flipped spots in the ABCA/Collegiate Baseball rankings. The Tommies finished at No. 2 and Emory at No. 3, with 443 and 430 points, respectively.
Linfield College garnered 429 points to check in at No. 4, with SUNY Cortland coming in at No. 5 with 406 points.
