YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly baseball awards on Monday and Salisbury University junior Brett Collacchi was named the league's Pitcher of the Week.
The Bear, Del., native picked up a pair of wins this past week, to reach 10 for the season. He beat Johns Hopkins University on Monday, with seven shutout innings, striking out three while scattering four hits. On Saturday, Collacchi worked six innings against the College of Staten Island, giving up just five hits and a pair of runs while striking out eight.
This season, Collacchi has posted a 2.35 ERA in 12 starts while notching a record of 10-1. For his career, Collacchi is 23-3 with a 2.89 ERA.
Salisbury will be in action for its final regular-season game on Wednesday, May 7 at Montclair State University. The first pitch, originally scheduled for 3:30 p.m., has been moved up to 2 p.m.
